2005 Football
Once again, it has been an unwise decision to leave a Scotch Plains Fanwood football game before the fourth quarter. Like the “Cardiac Kids” of 2004, Steve Ciccotelli’s 2005 team has saved most of its heroics for the second half and usually the fourth quarter.
Two of the first five games in their 2-3 season have gone to overtime and four of the five have been decided by less than three points. The most exhilarating comeback was against Westfield where the Raiders came back from a 26-6 fourth quarter deficit to win 32-29 in overtime. New Quarterback Colin Weber and first year player wide receiver Kyle Rowbotham have become one of the county’s most dangerous duos with five touchdown passes between them. Senior running back Rashawn Strong has six touchdowns and senior linebacker Nick Giannaci leads the team in tackles.
